Braghis staff protests: a) condemning the way campaign is unfolding and the passivity of the bodies responsible for the conduct of elections in line with European and international norms; b) voices its concerns as regards Chisinau Electoral Council’s ability to ensure correct tabulation of the votes.
Braghis’ electoral staff declared that via its observers and representatives in polling stations they would conduct parallel vote counting so as to prevent any attempt to rig election results.
“Under Article 35 paragraph 6 of the Electoral Code, local government is obliged to provide electoral bodies with premises and equipment for vote tabulation.
According to my sources, Ministry of Information technology insists to tabulate the votes itself without being entitled to do so.
I would like you to report on the local government’s possibilities, equipment that would be used for the vote tabulation available and whether it is operational”.
